Vacation accomplished

OK, next time I'll announce the vacation before I do it, but this was a rather unexpected post-Christmas unwinding. Sarah and Blackie and I went to Austin for a few days, where we ate and shopped and did all the stuff that one does in civilization. Like going to restaurants and shopping--and getting the dog groomed. And now we're back in San Angelo, which seems flatter and colder. Everytime I talk to my family, they ask if I'll be able to make it here for a few years. "Sure," I say, "I have my internet and my books." But it was nice to have some non-chain options for restaurants in Austin. More on this dissatisfaction as it develops.
